PROMPT: To create a brand new, emerging fast food/restaurant. Alongside the logo and central theme, create a kiosk/app UI that will allow customers to easily order their food, while still staying on brand. Also create packaging that their food will come in.
I based this project off the idea of a 1960s small burger diner you and your family would go to after a baseball game. No gimmicks, just burgers, fries, soda and hand spun shakes. I drew up a mascot that replicates the look of old 1960s cartoons, and created a simple name inspired by McDonalds original "Speedy" mascot and slogan. "Zaps! Burgers and Fries" was born off of these ideals. The hardest part of this project was the kiosk UI. I wanted to make something simple so that even grandma could use it, but also still retain that 1960's look on modern day technology. Through the use of carefully selected textures, colors, shapes, and even clever iconography, I am very proud of the final outcome. To go alongside all of this, the packaging is once again made to look like those old cartoon mascots we all love. It's all about cozy familiarity with this brand.
